Running races has been a huge part of my life for the past 12 years. (Wow, I feel old when I type that out loud.)

After running cross country and track in high school and college, I got involved in the huge racing scene in Phoenix. Just about every weekend there were multiple choices of races to run all around the city and state. Easy to do when you live in a city with such a great climate (except in the summers).

Lots of runners in Arizona.

Since the racing scene in Vietnam is nil, I have been having a tough time figuring out what my workouts should focus on. Sure, I could just work on getting stronger and faster, but without a race coming up, I am a little lost and lack the motivation to get my butt in any kind of serious gear.

For now, the focus is on strength training and HIT (high intensity) workouts. No crazy long runs or speed training as of yet. Bummer.

Until then, I wanted to share a quick leg workout with you all.

12 minute legs

I like using weights when doing circuits or workouts at the gym instead of just body weight. This workout is really nice for that. I use it to get some solid leg strength training and the one minute timing makes it feel good-different than just counting reps.
