Happy September! Friday after work, Rob and I took off for Rocky Mountain National Park.
Saturday, we hiked 10 miles to a waterfall scramble and the stunning Sky Pond. We started our hike early enough that we had a few minutes of awe-inspiring silence before the crowds arrived.
Unfortunately, our timing was off by about an hour and we got caught in the daily afternoon Thunderstorms. We were in tree line, but we still ended up wet.
Sunday, we started earlier and made a game-time decision to climb to Flattop.
4.4 miles one way, 2,700+ feet in elevation gain. It was a fun challenge and absolutely worth the views.
My injured left foot held up decently. It wasn’t the most pleasant feeling, but it got through. Now my old sneakers (which I wore all weekend) are causing a giant blister on my other foot, which is always a sign for new shoes. Time to get my new shoes figured out.

You need new shoes! I just go by the recommendations since I’m a newer runner. I don’t chance it. I’m too old!
That mirrored picture is absolutely amazing!
I finally ran in my new ones yesterday and they didn’t re-injure my foot, so I might be in the clear. Isn’t it gorgeous?!
Breath taking!
What a fabulous weekend!!!!!!!!
