It’s finally happened. A cold has taken me down.
There is theory that when life is super busy, your body does what it has to do to keep going. Then, when life clams down, the immune system decides it’s time for a vacation.
With no wedding planning and no studying in my life right now, I have come home all week with an open evening. It is glorious!
Wednesday afternoon around lunch, my body just snapped into a cold. No warning. It was like it was stalking me for the past 6 months.
Unfortunately, it’s in my chest, which means rest, so the Santa Stampede I was planning to run on Saturday may not happen. At least there is a Frosty’s Frozen 5+10K in January!
RQ: Do you get sick when life calms down? Have any ideas to make the reading intervention more interesting for next time?

That is so very true! I ALWAYS WILL REMEMBER the times in college when I would go home for the holidays or a break… I would ALWAYS GET SICK!!! I mean, I guess it’s better to get sick when you’re with your loved ones, but I always found it funny until one day it just clicked – stress keeps you on your toes, and then when the stress it gone, your body is like WTF!?!?! lol
Exactly! It stinks that you were sick on your vacations. That’s not a fun way to spend it.
So sorry you’re sick!
I can’t believe I’m putting this in writing (bad news in the future, I’m sure): I don’t usually get sick.
What is the premise behind the Reading/Writing Intervention table? When do students use it? How do they know to use it? I LOVE this idea!
Knock on wood! Intervention is for gen ed kiddos who haven’t mastered the quarterly standards in English. They come to me for an hour a week for direct instruction in the topics.
I’m like GiGi (except a whole lot older!) – I used to be sick the first week after every semester.
Hope you feel better soon – lots of rest this weekend!!!
Hope you’re feeling better! For the last week, I have been afraid I would get really sick, but I have managed to keep it at sniffles. Fingers crossed!
