Rob and I are perfect travel partners. We are out from dawn till dusk, or later, and are determined to pack our days with as much sightseeing as possible. I mentioned yesterday how we averaged about 4 miles of walking per day during our Japan trip. Though that doesn’t, and shouldn’t, sound like a lot, it really took a toll on me.

Included with all the walking was a lot of people dodging and standing. We really didn’t get a chance to sit down much except for lunch and dinner. The subways were usually packed and we had to stand after already being on our feet all day.

My legs were definitely sore this weekend and the back of my right knee has a bit of painful twinge in it when I walk. Maybe a residual thing from my treadmill injury a few months back?

Anyway, vegging this weekend and not hitting up high impact cardio this week should cure the pain. I don’t really do well with resting injuries, I usually just force myself to toughen up and push through it. (That’s probably why I ran cross country my senior year in college with shin splints turned stress fractures.)

I typically need a vacation from our vacations and having the weekend relax time was perfect.

Weekly Challenge

This week’s challenge should be mellow on the leg joins and tough on arms.
