Hello long lost blog land! How are you?
I apologize for being out of the blog loop, both with reading and updating, for the past week. There are some HUGE events going on around here. Let me try and catch you up:
1. Rob and I got off the plane in New York (after 30+ hours in transit) and were greeted by my parents with flowers and balloons.
2. My oldest sister, her husband, and my younger sister spend the weekend at my parents house in Connecticut visiting, playing badminton, and catching up.
3. I actually went for a 25 minute/3 mile run OUTSIDE and it was glorious. (Because of living in Vietnam, I haven’t been able to run outside in about 8 months.)
4. My older sister, who lives in London, got a big promotion at work. There was much celebrating on both sides of the ocean.
And the big news:
5. Rob and I are engaged!
He proposed over dinner at the beach while we were away in Thailand. I was completely shocked! We were just talking about our US return plans and such, and suddenly he pulls out a ring that I had made in December in Hanoi. Since it is a ring I wear all the time anyway, and only want a wedding band, it was more of a symbolic gesture. I completely teared up and the two of us were giddy-smiling for the rest of our trip.
Since we are leaving Connecticut by June 23, we have been on the all wedding channel for the past few days trying to get things done and taken care of before we head out. It’s fun work, but exhausting!

Hahahaha! Thank you for all the celebrations! It feels so good to be home. We are getting married in October. It’s fast, but we both love the fall, and my parents are moving in December, so we have to do it before then. It’s been two weeks of solid wedding planning!
OMG congrats!!! Was not expecting that in the middle of the post 🙂
