Last night Rob surprised me with tickets to see the Nutcracker!
I was really into ballet as a kid and my dance studio put on the Nutcracker every. single. year. It was a special treat to get to see the dance live and relive those memories of all the parts I played. Rob claims I couldn’t stop smiling throughout the performance. No wonder my cheek’s hurt this morning!
Before we went to the show, we stopped for dinner at Sam’s No. 3 that was just a block from the light rail and the theater.
Since we don’t make red meat at home anymore, it was a treat to have a burger. They were delicious! (As you can tell by my empty plate.)
It was a really special night and helped to get me into the Christmas spirit. Today has been full of Christmas shopping, packing, and organizing things here before heading off to New York and Minnesota for the next two weeks!

As a matter of coincidence, I saw the Nutcracker too this week! 😀 I presume it was a different version (in the UK at the Coliseum!), but I’m sure they’re very similar! It was my first ballet but I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did a blog post about it earlier this week. I’ll put it here if you’re interested!

Glad you liked the ballet, have you seen any other ballets? 🙂
We might go see the Nutcracker tomorrow – depends on the weather since it is icing now!!
Have a great time with your family over the next couple of weeks!
What a peaceful evening. 🙂 It sounds like you had a great time…
I’m also craving a burger now 🙂
Hi Brooke! How are you?
I haven’t blogged in forever so I am catching up on my all my favorite blogs 🙂
I love the Nutcracker. My grandmother always wanted to take my sister and I to see it. Unfortunately she never did. I finally went to see it in 2011. It was amazing!!
Hope you enjoy your break!
What a great night! I saw the Nutcracker there a few years ago. I always love watching it 🙂 I’ll have to try Sam’s No. 3; I love burger places!
I love the Nutcracker! My mom took my sister and I to see it at Proctors theater when I was little. And then I also saw it in 2011 with Heather (Miss Run like a G!) and some friends. I have great memories of both. It also reminds me of Christmas in NYC, even though I’ve never actually seen it there! Haha. Just the Rockettes and some other Broadway shows. Anyhoo, how nice of Rob to surprise you with this – you have a sweet husband. 🙂
