Saturday was wedding day!

First thing I did: run. I snuck out of the house just before 7 and took a thirty minute run to myself. It was the perfect way to calm any wedding day jitters I may have been feeling.

My sisters cooked up a big breakfast and we spent some time as a family around the breakfast table before the festivities began. That half hour with just us was wonderful as we took a breath before the events of the day.

At 9:30, the guys headed off to the driving range while the women headed to hair and makeup. The salon was ready for all 10 of us with mimosas and breakfast danishes. It was a sweet touch!

Two hours later, all of our hair was hairsprayed and curled, so we headed to my parents’ house for a lunch of sandwiches and pasta salad. I wasn’t too hungry since I was anxious to get in my dress and just feeling the general excitement in the air. Kate made sure I ate a few sandwich halves, which I appreciated.

When 1:30 hit, it was time to put on my dress! My sisters put on their bridesmaid dresses first, so they would be dressed for the pictures. We hadn’t timed this too well and I ended up standing around in my undies for a few minutes while they dressed. Good thing I am from a family of women!

As my mom and Margot laced up the back of my dress, I got progressively more excited and a bit nervous. People had been saying to me all weekend, “This is happening”, which made me think, “Well…yea…”. As my dress went on, I was the one to say, “This is happening.” I had no doubts about Rob being the right man for me, it was more about, this is my actual wedding day. This day is happening. Such a weird feeling.

Dress On

I absolutely adored getting ready with my sisters. They looked so beautiful and we were just giggling and laughing the whole time. It was so much fun to have them there as the white dress went on.

Laced up, blue shoes on, bouquet in hand, Margot, the photographer, and I, headed to a little park just by my parents’ house to meet Rob.

I am still waiting on pictures from the photographer, so I apologize there aren’t more!
