Things have been quite hectic after work this week and the gym has had to take a back seat. There are some really exciting things happening in the next few months and I’ve needed those usual gym hours to start preparing for them.
Monday – Off
Tuesday – Mixed Bag Quick Circuit
Wednesday – Off
Thursday – Off
Friday – 30:00 run (6 k)
Saturday – 5:00 run (.8 k), full body circuit
Sunday – Off
I did manage to finish the Ab-elicious weekly challenge, plus the extras I had, while I was at home. I never realized how sore high knees make me! My hips and calves were burning for a few days.
6-Minute Bikini Body Challenge
Instead of a weekly challenge, I thought it would be fun to try a month long challenge for April. You know, wreck the routine a little. Since bikini season is fast approaching, the day’s moves work your core, arms, legs, and include a cardio burst.
Each day’s set should take no more than 3 minutes and you should complete each day’s set twice for a total of 6 minutes. Do it in the morning right when you get up, before you head to bed, or while you’re watching TV. Like the weekly challenges, the Bikini Body Challenge is designed to be done at home, any time and without equipment.
Here are some explanations and links to videos of a few of the moves:
- Swimmies – Lay on your stomach. Lift your head, arms, and chest off the floor as well as your legs from the hip. Move your arms and legs quickly as if you were doing a splash-tastic pool stroke.
- Super Skaters
- Push Up Taps – From a regular push up position, tap your left shoulder with your right hand, then tap your right shoulder with your left hand.
- MK Lunges
- Plank Punches
Keep in mind that this challenge should not be your only workout for the day. It is just a fun challenge to add to your regular workouts or to get you moving while you’re at home.
I have the month printed and on my fridge, so I have no excuses not to complete the day’s challenge.

This week was great workout-wise. That monthly challenge looks really cool. I have 5 more hours to decide if I’m “in” or not 🙂 I think the answer would be yes. I like the simplicity of it.
Sweet! Glad to have a partner in challenge.
Ok! I’m in. I downloaded the photo and printed it (2 copies ~ one for upstairs and one for down), put a “6” on my whiteboard for every day and watched the little you-tube videos (thank you very much) to prepare me. I’m also starting Jillian’s 30-Day shred tomorrow. I’m looking more for tone than shred! Shredding doesn’t sound like fun at all!
Let me know how Jillian’s shred is. I’ve been hearing a lot about it. Glad you’re in for the 6-Minute Challenge.
I am definitely adding this to my routine!! I like that its spelled out for me.. I’m up for the challenge!
Woot! Quick and easy, that’s the idea.
Love challenges like this! April is perfect timing too, the weather is warming up and the bikinis will be making an appearance soon!
Exactly. Those bikinis won’t wear themselves.
